The one who is nicknamed "Ouled Messaoudi" presented himself to a police station to renew his national identity card. He was wrong, as he was arrested following a check-in operation, reports the daily Assabah, adding that he managed to escape during his transfer to the central police station.
The newspaper adds that an investigation will be opened to determine the exact circumstances of the escape, but also the responsibilities. Severe disciplinary sanctions could be taken against the agents who showed a lack of vigilance.
