Notorious Burglar Arrested as Marrakech’s Guéliz Neighborhood Faces Home Break-in Surge

In Marrakech, the increase in home burglaries in the Guéliz neighborhood and the many complaints from residents have prompted the police to conduct an investigation that led to the arrest of a notorious burglar.
Many homes have been burglarized in the ochre city. The alleged burglars took advantage of the absence of families from the Mabrouka housing estate in Guéliz and Ménara to operate, reports Al Ahdat Al Maghribiya. They took away money and valuables. Victims filed complaints with the police districts in the two Ménara and Guéliz districts. Investigations then began. Elements of the sixteenth police district, in coordination with their counterparts from the eleventh district, managed to arrest one of the gang members in possession of about sixty keys of different locks. Several stolen items were also seized.
During his interrogation, the alleged burglar revealed the modus operandi of his crimes. The gang members spotted the homes of buildings whose tenants were traveling, then operated at night. For now, the investigators are continuing the investigations in order to elucidate all the burglary cases reported in the two districts, to identify the accomplices of the accused and his connections, as well as the other crimes committed in the city or elsewhere.
