Northern Morocco Earthquake: Light Tremor Felt Near Larache

A low-intensity earthquake was felt this Monday evening in the province of Larache, causing no injuries or material damage. The epicenter was located between Ksar El Kébir and Larache, at a depth of nearly 24 kilometers.

Seismic monitoring stations recorded a tremor this Monday, February 2, at 7:32 p.m. local time, measuring 3.10 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located in the Ouled Ouchihe area, situated between the cities of Ksar El Kébir and Larache.

Despite the phenomenon’s low magnitude, residents of the communes of Laouamra, Zouada and Sidi Boubker El Haj reported feeling the tremor to varying degrees.

No injuries or material damage have been reported to date by local authorities.
