Newcastle Targets World Cup Star Hakim Ziyech in January Transfer Window

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech would still be in Newcastle’s sights, who are trying to recruit him during this transfer window that ends at the end of January. Remains to find an agreement around the thorny issue of the player’s salary.
A key player in Morocco’s historic run at the 2022 World Cup, Ziyech is still looking for a club to relaunch himself. Back at Stamford Bridge, the 29-year-old still does not benefit from much playing time. And the arrival of new recruits further diminishes his chances of playing a leading role in the Blues’ squad.
Despite many offers, no agreement has been reached. Among the clubs that have shown interest in him, there is Newcastle. For the umpteenth time, the English club would be trying to secure the services of the Moroccan international.
According to The Telegraph, the club bought by a Saudi fund has not yet given up on signing the Moroccan midfielder. Currently 3rd in the Premier League, the Magpies want to afford the Chelsea star to consolidate their position in the standings, with a view to playing the Champions League, the newspaper points out.
A few months ago, Ziyech had set his conditions for a possible transfer to the club, demanding 7 to 8 million euros per year (118 to 135,000 £ per week). His uncomfortable situation within the Blues could speed up the case.
