Barcelona Eyes Chelsea’s Ziyech as Potential Midseason Transfer Target

FC Barcelona would still be interested in Hakim Ziyech to strengthen its team, after the recent departure of Memphis Depay to Atlético de Madrid. The Moroccan, for his part, is eager to leave Chelsea.
Hakim Ziyech could join Barça during this winter transfer window. Barça coach Xavi Hernández would be ready to welcome the Moroccan winger, who has not been appreciated at his true value at Chelsea, to strengthen his team, reports Sport.
The Moroccan has all the qualities that Xavi is looking for in attackers: bold, skillful and a scorer, and could therefore integrate the team without difficulty. The Catalan club had already expressed interest in Ziyech in 2020, when he was playing in the Eredivisie. But the 29-year-old player had ended up joining Chelsea.
Since his arrival in 2020-21, Ziyech has played 97 games, scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists for this club, compared to only 9 games played this season in the Premier League, proof that he no longer counts for the club. His departure could therefore facilitate the negotiations and his arrival at the Camp Nou.
