Chelsea Set to Offload Ziyech Amid Financial Struggles and Performance Concerns

To give a boost to its treasury battered by the Covid-19 health crisis, Chelsea has decided to put three of its players on the transfer market. Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech is on this list and could therefore leave the London club after a mixed experience.
The cash flow problems that Chelsea has been facing for a few months (losses of around 173 million euros for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021) could lead to the departure of Hakim Ziyech, whose transfer had been refused by the club’s officials. According to information published by the British daily The Sun, Hakim Ziyech will leave this summer. He has failed to adapt to the type and game strategy of the London club.
The player no longer has his place within the club. Proof of this, last Sunday, he remained on the bench throughout the match against Liverpool in the Premier League match. His presence on the list of potential departures is therefore not a surprise. Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also concerned.
According to the same newspaper, Chelsea intends to sell the Moroccan player for a substantial sum since his transfer cost 40 million euros. The sale of the three players should be used to finance the transfer of players like Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle) or Ousmane Dembélé (FC Barcelona).
