National Strike Threatens Flights Between Morocco and Belgium on October 1

Many flights between Morocco and Belgium are at risk of being canceled due to a national strike in Belgian airports.
Major disruptions at Belgian airports. A national strike has been announced for October 1st, reports Air Journal. It affects several sectors, including security agents, cleaning and catering staff at Belgian airports. This strike will involve "a large part of the external service provider’s staff for security" at the airport, said Brussels Airport (Brussels-Zaventem). This strike action will not be without consequences on air traffic. "Airlines, in consultation with the airport, have decided to cancel or reschedule a significant number of flights departing on October 1st," said the manager of Brussels airport.
Already, Brussels Airlines plans to cancel "most of its flights". "Passengers will be informed and transferred to another flight as soon as possible," warned the Belgian subsidiary of the German group Lufthansa. It would be a question of operating a flight "one day earlier, one day later or, for transfer passengers, a transfer to another hub of the Lufthansa group".
Air traffic will also be disrupted at the airports of Charleroi and Liège due to strike notices filed to allow employees to participate in the demonstration organized in Brussels.
