Mourinho Blocks En-Nesyri’s Exit: Fenerbahçe’s $40M Striker Saga Unfolds

Fenerbahçe coach José Mourinho has firmly opposed the departure of Youssef En-Nesyri. The Moroccan striker recently expressed his desire to leave the Turkish club after being the victim of insults from some supporters.
While Youssef En-Nesyri no longer wants to stay at Fenerbahçe, the club’s coach is keen to keep him in his squad. The club’s management was in favor of the departure of the Moroccan international, but José Mourinho does not share the same opinion. The Portuguese technician firmly opposed the transfer of the Moroccan striker who received an attractive offer of 30 million euros, according to the Turkish media Türkiye Gazetesi.
"The management, which had set a transfer fee of 40 million euros for Youssef En-Nesyri, who was strongly courted by several Arab clubs, notably Al Hilal, was considering recruiting a new striker thanks to the revenue from the sale of the Moroccan star," the same source said. For his part, "José Mourinho indicated in his report that En-Nesyri occupied a central place in his plans," blocking his departure.
Finally, "the coach and the management met the player to convince him to stay." The Atlas Lion should therefore remain at Fenerbahçe for the next season, "unless an astronomical offer is made." En-Nesyri joined the Turkish club in the summer of 2024 from FC Seville. In 52 appearances, he has scored 30 goals and provided 7 assists, becoming the second top scorer in the history of the Istanbul club.
