Motril Port Expands Facilities to Boost Morocco-Spain Travel and Trade

The port of Motril has just launched the construction work of a new vehicle control post to streamline traffic with Morocco, especially during the passage of MREs.
The Port Authority of Motril has launched this project to streamline passenger and freight traffic with Morocco and allow companies to gain in competitiveness. The construction of this control post also aims to unify and improve security at the entrance to the Levante, Costa and Azucenas quays, where the ferries providing regular connections with Morocco dock. At a cost of 2.1 million euros, the project will also facilitate the entry of the Motril fishing port, reports Cadena de Suministro.
Similarly, large-scale photovoltaic panels will be installed in the road area, on an area of about 3,000 m², to allow the entry and exit of heavy vehicles. Next to it, infrastructure will also be built for the Civil Guard and National Police agents who carry out access controls to the ships.
