Wednesday 3 April 2019, by
A veiled woman who was taking her children to school has just been attacked with a knife, this Tuesday, very early on the Chaussée de Ninove in Anderlecht.
Around 7:20 am yesterday Tuesday, a mother, Laila H.G., was attacked with a knife while she was driving her three children, aged 8 to 11, to school. The man fled. And the children witnessed the attack.
The victim had a deep wound to the abdomen and was taken to the hospital in intensive care to undergo surgery, her life having initially been in danger.
After the intervention, the woman is now out of danger. As RTL writes: "Relief in Anderlecht. The mother stabbed in the middle of the street by a stranger seems to be out of danger. She is now out of intensive care, said Denis Goeman, the spokesman for the Brussels public prosecutor’s office (...). Her upcoming hearing should help investigators learn more about this violent attack that took place in a public place".
According to Denis Goeman: "The racist attack track is mentioned but it is not the only one. We must remain very cautious until we have all the elements". The perpetrator of this attack is actively being sought and the police continue to view existing videos to try to identify him.
The children were taken care of by social services and family members.
