Veiled Muslim Women Targeted in Alleged Hate Crime Outside Belgian School

Muslim women were the target of a new Islamophobic attack in Belgium, this time in Uccle where two women were insulted "because of their veil".
The facts are reported by the local press, including the newspaper La Dernière heure, which indicates that the two women were in front of a school to pick up their children. They were first insulted by a driver who made racist remarks saying for example that he did not like veiled women.
The latter then hit one of them at the pedestrian crossing before fleeing. He will return to the scene a little later, probably out of fear of an aggravation of legal proceedings.
Arrested by the police and made available to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, before being released, the man must appear very soon before the court.
The police investigation continues and according to the public prosecutor’s office, it cannot be established for the moment that he deliberately hit the pedestrian. According to the same source, the driver is not known to the police.
