Mother’s Heartfelt Plea: Jailed Moroccan Journalist Omar Radi’s Case Sparks Outcry
Among the reactions coming from all sides to support the journalist Omar Radi, detained for a few days, that of his mother is the most poignant. In a message imbued with pain and despair, she expressed her "deep sadness", calling for the immediate release of her son.
In a long message shared on social networks, the mother of Omar affirmed her admiration for her son, in the face of "the extent of the solidarity" expressed by his friends and loved ones. "I am as proud of you as I am sad. I am sad because I know that you are like a free bird, who cannot now sing and chirp in the free space," she wrote. The mother declares that she now realizes the suffering of all the women whose children are in detention, whatever the reason.
It should be recalled that the journalist Omar Radi is being prosecuted for a tweet posted on April 6, 2019, in which he severely criticized the verdict handed down by the judge who handled the highly publicized trial of the Hirak Rif, according to the same source.
