Moroccan Authorities Reportedly Displeased with Journalist Omar Radi’s Prosecution

King Mohammed VI and other higher authorities are said to have condemned the prosecution of journalist Omar Radi, accused of "contempt of court".
The prosecution of journalist Omar Radi, accused of "contempt of court", is not to the liking of the highest authorities in the country, reports Maghreb Intelligence, which does not however name the sovereign directly. The reason is that this prosecution has somewhat tarnished the image of Morocco.
Fortunately, the Moroccan justice system has partially revised its copy. The journalist is now being prosecuted while at liberty. At the court of first instance in Casablanca, on Thursday, January 2, the judge decided to postpone his trial to March 5, 2020.
Arrested on December 26, 2019, this 33-year-old journalist will be tried for a tweet he published in April 2019. In this tweet, he had protested against the sentences handed down by Judge Lahcen Talfi against the members of the Hirak movement. They had been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
The arrest of Omar Radi had caused an outcry. Human rights defenders organized a march on Saturday, December 28, to call for his release.
