Mosque in Le Blanc-Mesnil Robbed of €12,000 in Donations, Imam Suspects Outside Culprit

The safe containing the donations of the faithful of the mosque on Rue Maxime-Gorki, in Le Blanc-Mesnil, was stolen by an unknown person. It contained between 10,000 and 12,000 euros and not 90,000 euros as could be read on social networks.
The theft took place during the night of Saturday to Sunday, as reported by the newspaper Le Parisien, which specifies that the money was intended for the construction of the future mosque whose project is followed by the Union of Muslims of Le Blanc-Mesnil.
"We are moved and angry," laments the imam of the mosque, Mohammed Marecar, for whom a man of faith cannot decently steal the money from a mosque, nor even his fellow men. "I rather think it’s someone from the outside."
To those who wonder about the presence of this large sum in the safe, the imam replies that the leaders usually do not keep so much cash in the mosque. "Usually there is not so much, because it is deposited every day at the bank. But the thief had prepared his coup by coming on a weekend, when the banks are closed..."
A complaint has already been filed with the police station and as the town hall affirms, 103 cameras cover the city and we should therefore very soon see the outcome of this investigation.
