Morocco’s Ziyech Races to Recover for Crucial AFCON Round of 16 Match

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech was substituted due to injury last Wednesday during the match between the Moroccan team and Zambia for the 3rd group stage match.
The initial medical examinations revealed that the player’s injury is not as serious. The medical team is mobilized to get Ziyech back in shape for the next match, scheduled for next Tuesday against South Africa. This match will be crucial as it is the round of 16 of the competition and will therefore be an elimination match. The Atlas Lions must win to advance to the next round.
The Moroccan team dominated the group stage, finishing first with 7 points. They are followed by the Democratic Republic of Congo, who secured second place with 3 points. Zambia, for its part, finished third with two points, tied with Tanzania.
The Atlas Lions will face the South Africans next Tuesday at 9pm.
