Morocco’s World Cup Prep: Atlas Lions Face Streamlined CAN 2023 Qualifier Schedule

Before their participation in the World Cup, the Atlas Lions will have to ensure the matches counting towards the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The schedule for these matches has been published by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The African body has concocted a lightened program for the Atlas Lions that could allow them to prepare their participation in the World Cup without pressure. The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Côte d’Ivoire from June 23 to July 23, 2023, with the participation of 24 national teams, according to information published by CAF.
The new scheduling of the Confederation has therefore taken into account the requests of the countries qualified for the 2022 World Cup. They will have two free months (July and August), and will also have from September, about three weeks without qualifying matches. The schedule for the 2023 CAN qualifiers: 1st and 2nd days: May 30 and June 14, 3rd and 4th days: September 19 and September 27, 5th and 6th days: March 20 and March 28, 2023.
According to the draw made on April 19 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Morocco found itself in Group K alongside South Africa, Zimbabwe and Liberia.
