Morocco to Host Liberia in AFCON Qualifier After Venue Change

The match between Liberia and Morocco, counting towards the 2nd round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, will ultimately take place at the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca.
The Confederation of African Football has not homologated the "Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia" where Liberia intended to host its opponents. The country of George Weah will therefore have to find a neutral venue for its home matches.
This week, the African football governing body decided that the match against Morocco, scheduled for the second week of June, will be played at the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca.
Placed in Group K for the qualifiers, Morocco will have to face South Africa, Zimbabwe and Liberia to secure their ticket for the 2023 AFCON, scheduled from June 23 to July 23, 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire. Their first match will be against South Africa, on Thursday, June 9 at 9pm, in Rabat.
