Morocco Edges Closer to CAN 2023 Qualification with 2-0 Win Over Liberia

For their second match counting towards the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), Côte d’Ivoire 2023, the Atlas Lions defeated Liberia (2-0), Monday, June 13, at the Mohammed V complex in Casablanca.
The Moroccan players avoided conceding goals and managed their advantage until the end of the match. The goals of the Lions were scored by Fayçal Fajr on a penalty (56th) and Youssef En-Nesyri (58th). A second victory that brings Morocco closer to a definitive qualification for the 2023 CAN.
Making his first start since his return, Amine Harit remained very mobile on the pitch, putting pressure on Liberia’s defense. He will be helped by all his teammates, especially Youssef En-Nesyri and Yahya Attiat Allah. All attempts by the Lone Stars could not succeed.
With this victory, Morocco becomes the leader of Group K with 6 points, followed by South Africa and Liberia (0 pt). On September 19, South Africa will host Liberia.
