Injury-Plagued Morocco Faces Must-Win Match Against Liberia in AFCON Qualifier

Despite an infirmary that never empties, the Moroccan team must absolutely win this Monday, their match against Liberia, counting for the 2nd round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Lacking manpower, due to the number of injured players and a technical staff reduced by Covid-19, coach Vahid Halilhodzic could have some difficulties in composing his starting lineup against Liberia.
The technician has also expressed his concern about the lack of freshness of the players. "The concentration camp we are currently going through is difficult. Members of our medical and technical staff have been infected with Covid-19, in addition to the players who have been injured," he said.
And to add: "I know very well that my players are very tired, whether mentally or physically. And tomorrow, I will have some difficulties in composing my team with which I will start the match."
However, continued the coach, the national team must win the 3 points against Liberia and continue on this good momentum in order to qualify for the 2023 CAN in Côte d’Ivoire. "We really have to win and I ask the supporters to come and encourage us and support the players. They are tired because we are at the end of the season. But we have to win even if the mission will not be easy," he stressed.
