A 39-year-old woman died in Algeciras, Spain, during celebrations of Morocco’s qualification for the World Cup quarterfinals. According to initial investigation findings, the Moroccan flag she was wearing became caught in the rear wheel of a motorcycle.
The festive evening turned tragic in Algeciras, in the province of Cádiz. On Saturday night, as supporters celebrated Morocco’s qualification for the World Cup quarterfinals, a 39-year-old woman was killed in an accident in the San García neighborhood.

The victim was traveling as a passenger on a high-displacement motorcycle driven by her husband. According to initial investigations reported by Efe, she was wearing a Moroccan flag around her neck, which "allegedly became caught in the rear wheel of the motorcycle."
The accident occurred around 11 p.m., at the intersection of Getares road and 28 de Febrero avenue. Local police opened an investigation to determine the precise circumstances of the tragedy.
Investigation opened following the accident
Officers who arrived at the scene immediately attempted to resuscitate the victim. They performed cardiac massage and used the defibrillator carried in their patrol vehicle, but were unable to save her.
Emergency medical services then continued treatment before transferring the woman to Punta Europa hospital. Her death was confirmed shortly after her arrival at the emergency room.

The motorcycle driver, the victim’s husband, was subjected to a breathalyzer test. The result was negative, with a reading of 0.0 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air.
