Morocco vs Algeria Women’s CAN: Crucial Derby in Rabat

A victory in the derby would take Morocco to six points before their final match against Senegal. Qualification would become mathematical on Thursday if the Senegal vs Kenya match, scheduled earlier in the day, ends in a draw.

In other scenarios, six points would still place the Moroccan women in an extremely favorable position. Their goal difference, already at +4, could prove decisive in case of a three-way tie at the end of the group stage.

Beyond the calculations, this Morocco-Algeria clash represents the Lionesses’ first real test in the tournament. The African vice-champions of the last two editions will need to confirm their offensive efficiency against an Algerian side that showed great discipline against Senegal.
