Morocco Urges International Action Against Israeli Violations of Palestinian Rights

In Jeddah, the Kingdom of Morocco called on the international community to put an end to Israel’s violation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinians, for the security and stability of the region. This was on Sunday, as part of the emergency meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Preserving the chances of reaching a solution between Israel and Palestine is a concern for the Kingdom of Morocco, which on Sunday, at the podium of the emergency meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), sent a strong signal through the speech of Ms. Mounia Boucetta. According to MAP, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation indicated that the persistent violations of the legitimate rights of the Palestinians by the Israeli authorities are hindering the international efforts made to revive the peace process between these two countries.
Reiterating Morocco’s firm condemnation of the recent statements by the Israeli Prime Minister concerning the annexation of the Jordan Valley and the northern part of the Dead Sea, Mounia Boucetta stressed that these persistent violations were a constant source of tension, extremism, hatred and instability in the Middle East. She added, according to the same source, that the Palestinian issue and Al-Quds Al-Sharif will remain at the heart of the conflict in the Middle East and at the center of the attention of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was created to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, highlighting the particular interest accorded by King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, to the defense of the Palestinian cause.
Morocco is willing, according to the Secretary of State, to exchange with other countries on ways to support the central issue of the OIC and to continue the necessary efforts made by international actors to counter all violations by the Israeli forces against the Palestinian people.
