Morocco Reaffirms Support for Palestinian State, Condemns Israeli Settlements

The Moroccan ambassador to Cairo and permanent representative to the League, Ahmed Tazi, hammered in his statement that all Israeli settlements established on Palestinian territories, including East Al Quds, are illegal and jeopardize the desired peace process, namely the two-state solution.

"We stand by our Palestinian brothers in their distress and support all their rights, in particular that of establishing an independent and viable Palestinian state," he added.

The representative of the kingdom also reiterated Morocco’s position in encouraging any effort that will give a strong impetus to the Palestinian cause. He also hoped that the Israeli government would respond favorably and engage in serious and fruitful peace negotiations with the Palestinians.

All stakeholders plan to develop, during this meeting, a resolution condemning the new position of the US administration on Israeli settlement.
