Morocco Urged to Take Larger Role in Syrian Peace Process, Says Opposition Leader

The president of the Syrian National Coalition, Nasr Al Hariri, has called on the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, to strengthen the kingdom’s role on the Syrian political scene and to urge the Arab League to find a political solution to the conflict.
As an indispensable player in the Middle East and North Africa region, Morocco enjoys great esteem thanks to the neutrality and dynamism of King Mohammed VI’s foreign policy, stressed the president of the National Coalition in a letter addressed to the Moroccan minister.
The mediation efforts deployed by the Moroccan government to establish peace are capable of opening new horizons of political and economic stability in the region and strengthening internal peace and security, he added.
"Your country’s diplomatic wisdom and its effective foreign policies confer great respect and well-deserved confidence on the kingdom from the global community," wrote Nasr Al Hariri.
For all these reasons, the Syrian National Coalition aspires for King Mohammed VI to play an influential and decisive role in Syria, urging the Arab countries to find a political and comprehensive solution to the Syrian conflict, the Coalition president specified.
