Morocco Upgrades Marrakech and Agadir Airports to Enhance Traveler Experience

The National Airports Office (ONDA) has undertaken transformation works concerning the exterior zones and entrances of certain airports. This initiative is part of the deployment of its strategy named "Airports 2030".
The improvements made in Marrakech and Agadir include a redesign of circulation areas as well as drop-off zones. Updated signage has been installed to guide travelers. Additionally, direct access to terminals has been implemented, differentiated according to the airlines serving the platforms.
According to information provided by ONDA, these modifications aim to make passenger reception more fluid, intuitive, and pleasant. They also aim to improve the management of arrival and departure flows, enhance service quality, and meet the expectations of travelers and those accompanying them. The Office emphasizes the central role of these two airports in national tourism, given that a significant portion of the millions of annual tourists accessing Morocco by air transit through Marrakech and Agadir.
The implementation of these changes required collaboration between different institutions. ONDA specifies: "All of these measures were made possible thanks to the concerted mobilization between the Ministry of the Interior, the Directorate of Immigration and Border Surveillance, the DGSN, the Royal Gendarmerie, Customs, the Wilaya of Marrakech, the Wilaya of Agadir, and finally ONDA".
These transformations represent a step in ONDA’s approach to facilitate passenger journeys within airports. They align with the "Airports 2030" strategy which aims to position Moroccan airports among the best international standards, by developing platforms that are more "smart", connected, and oriented towards travelers’ needs, as the Office’s press release concludes.
