Morocco’s Airports Hit Record 32.7 Million Passengers in 2024

Statistics from the National Airports Office (ONDA) show that air traffic at Moroccan airports recorded a record number of passengers at the end of 2024.
Passenger air traffic reached a new record with 32.7 million passengers at the end of 2024, up 21% compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF) in its recent economic note, citing ONDA statistics. According to DEPF’s explanations, this performance is linked to the consolidation of international passenger flows by 20%, and domestic passenger flows by 30%.
Recently, ONDA unveiled its new "Airports 2030" strategy, which revolves around 3 main axes: infrastructure development, reinventing the customer experience, and ONDA’s transformation. It aims to support the strong increase in passenger traffic and Royal Air Maroc’s (RAM) development plan, while preparing for the co-organization by the kingdom of the 2030 World Cup.
The capacity of the country’s largest airport, Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport, should increase from 14 to 35 million passengers by 2029. Other airports (Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier and Fez in particular) will also undergo major expansion work to double their capacities and meet the strong growth in air traffic.
In addition, Royal Air Maroc plans to expand its fleet, which will grow from 50 to 200 aircraft by 2037. Its ambition is to become a force to be reckoned with in global aviation.
