Morocco Upgrades Casablanca-Berrechid Highway with New Toll System to Ease Traffic

The new generation of toll booths equipped with a new toll system on the Casablanca-Berrechid motorway was put into service on Saturday by the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, Abdelkader Amara.
To improve traffic flow, the government has launched new generation toll booths. Several months after intense work, the new toll system on the Casa-Berrechid motorway is finally operational. The work has made it possible to remove two toll booths, one located in Berrechid South at kilometer point 34 (PK 34) of the Casablanca-Agadir motorway axis and the other in Berrechid East at PK 5 of the Berrechid-Béni-Mellal motorway axis.
They also allowed the creation of two new toll booths, the first at the Berrechid North entrance ramp and the second at the Berrechid South interchange.
The work took 5 months for a total investment of 40 million DH. Despite the traffic of 70,000 vehicles per day, ADM has successfully met this challenge thanks to its expertise in the field of infrastructure. For Omar Sikkal, CEO of ADM’s technical expertise subsidiary, his structure is proud to "present this large-scale project, carried out by national operators".
For the ADM official, this toll system redesign project combined with the automatic payment method will ultimately optimize travel conditions.
