Morocco Unveils Bonus Structure for Frontline Health Workers in COVID-19 Fight

Who are the people concerned by the exceptional bonuses promised by the Ministry of Health? How much will they receive? Here are the details.
The Moroccan government had promised the payment of an exceptional bonus to health personnel on the front line in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The heads of hospital departments and care units have been asked to send to the regional directorate, no later than December 21 at 11 a.m., the list of personnel working directly and indirectly on the front line against Covid-19.
The internal note follows a press release from the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Health, which specifies that the budget allocated to the exceptional allowance will be paid before the end of the year.
The exceptional bonus is intended for all healthcare, administrative and technical personnel in hospitals and care units, according to a second note. However, the allowance varies depending on the grade and workload.
Here are the net amounts of the bonuses according to the category and the intervention:
Doctors and pharmacists:
• Direct intervention: 6,000
• Indirect intervention: 4,000
Nurses and health technicians:
• Direct intervention: 4,800
• Indirect intervention: 3,500
Administrative and technical staff:
• Direct intervention: 3,600
• Indirect intervention: 2,500
