Morocco Proposes COVID-19 Bonus for Healthcare Workers, Up to 3,000 Dirhams

A Covid-19 bonus, from 1,000 to 3,000 dirhams, will be granted to the executives and healthcare personnel mobilized during the health crisis. The announcement was made on Wednesday by the Minister of Health, Khalid Ait Taleb, during a meeting with the National Union of Public Health.
The new incentive measure, which remains a proposal pending approval at the moment, was put in place following lengthy negotiations with the unions.
The minister specified that the Covid-19 bonus will be distributed according to the professional grades of the staff. Thus, the nursing executives will receive an allowance of 3,000 dirhams, while the staff in the emergency and intensive care services will be entitled to 2,000 dirhams. The rest of the staff will receive a bonus of 1,000 dirhams, for the efforts made during the pandemic.
Ait Taleb stressed that the Moroccan government has agreed to grant a bonus to all the executives and healthcare personnel on the front line during the Covid-19 health crisis.
