Morocco U23 Secures Third Straight Win in AFCON Group Stage

The Moroccan under-23 national football team dominated their Congolese counterparts by winning a 1-0 victory at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, during the third day of Group A of the U23 AFCON (Morocco-2023).
This victory, following a goal by Younes Taha in the 7th minute, marks the third success of the Atlas Lion Cubs, thus positioning them at the top of their group.
For this match without stakes for the Moroccan team, already qualified for the semi-finals, national coach Issame Charaï chose to give playing time to other players. Some key players such as Ismail Saibari, Bilal El Khannous or Abdessamad Ezzalzouli were not lined up, allowing substitutes to become familiar with the atmosphere of the competition.
The Moroccans were able to maintain their lead throughout the second half, bringing their total to 9 points after their previous victories against Guinea and Ghana. They will face the second-placed team in Group B, which includes Egypt, Mali, Niger and Gabon, in the semi-finals next Tuesday.
