Morocco Tops Global Ranking for Solo Travel Destinations, Survey Finds

A survey conducted by the British insurance company SportsCover Direct has made Morocco one of the best destinations for solo travel. The kingdom holds the highest score among the destinations touted by travelers.
After being ranked as the best destination for family travel, Morocco is a dream destination for those who come there solo, even though it is not suitable for women traveling alone. With a score of 29.1/30, Morocco is ranked first with criteria such as "the number of solo visits, the percentage of 5-star hotels and the percentage of 5-star activities on TripAdvisor," according to the SportsCover Direct report.
According to the same source, Morocco has recorded a high rate of 5-star hotels (42.09%) and the highest percentage of 5-star activities in the world (52.53%). On this criterion, Morocco is followed by Greece with a score of 28.95/30 points. In the overall ranking, Morocco outperforms Greece, India, the United States and South Africa.
As for women traveling alone, the best destination remains Spain with a safety score of 212.04 and an overall score of 47.4/50. "The country is the safest for women and also has a large number of solo tours, including a nine-day trip starting in Madrid and ending in Barcelona." Behind Spain, there is Ireland, Austria, Portugal, Croatia, Switzerland, Norway and France. Morocco is not in the Top 10.
