Morocco's Passport Ranks 82nd Globally, 2nd in North Africa: Henley Index

The Moroccan passport ranks 2nd in North Africa and 82nd globally, according to the latest Henley & Partners ranking.

Moroccans are among those who can cross the borders of many countries with their passport. According to the Henley Q3 2022 index, the Moroccan passport ranks 82nd, giving its holder the ability to travel to 65 countries in the world. This is two places lower than the last ranking.

In the MENA region, the Moroccan passport ranks 7th in the ranking controlled by the United Arab Emirates. In North Africa, Morocco is ranked 2nd behind the Tunisian passport and ahead of the Mauritanian passport, as well as the Algerian passport which shares the same rank with Egypt.

Japan remains at the top of the global ranking with a record of 193 accessible countries without a visa. It is followed by Singapore and South Korea, both in 2nd place with a score of 192 countries. Germany and Spain come in 3rd place with visa-free access to 190 countries. Finland, Italy and Luxembourg take 4th place in the ranking with a record of 189 countries. They are followed by Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden ranked 5th, with possible access without a visa to 188 destinations worldwide.

The United Kingdom and the United States have both left the top 5, moving to 6th and 7th place. At the bottom of the global ranking, there are Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. With the passports of these countries, nationals can only access less than 50 countries.
