Morocco’s Top Security Official Praises Officer for Integrity and Professionalism

The Director General of National Security (DGSN) has sent a letter of commendation to a police officer for "his exemplary behavior".
Abdellatif Hammouchi "sent a letter of commendation to a senior peace officer serving at the Fez police prefecture, in recognition of his high sense of professionalism, his exemplary behavior both personally and professionally, and his effective involvement in upholding the values of moralization and integrity within the security apparatus," says a DGSN statement.
This official "had proceeded, last Tuesday, to the arrest of an individual caught in flagrante delicto of possession of various jewelry weighing a total of 5.29 kg, without being in possession of receipts proving their origin," the statement said, adding that he "undertook all the necessary regulatory procedures despite the suspect’s attempt to corrupt him by offering him large sums of money."
The suspect was taken into custody, while the jewelry was handed over to the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration so that it can file its claims in this case, the statement concluded.
