Tuesday 26 February 2019, by Said

A letter of congratulation was addressed by the Director General of National Security (DGSN) Abdellatif Hammouchi to a police inspector for "his professionalism" in the performance of his duties.

This inspector stationed in Larache also received "a monetary reward" for "his integrity and uprightness in the performance of his duties, as well as for his effective involvement in the policy of consecrating the values of moralisation and governance advocated by the DGSN", the statement said.

"A repeat offender tried to corrupt this police inspector by offering him sums of money in order to facilitate the trafficking of a quantity of drugs from the coasts of Larache, as well as a mobile phone to prepare this criminal operation, but the policeman informed his superiors and the competent judicial authorities," the DGSN said, adding that the "judicial investigations carried out in the context of this case under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office led to the arrest of the accused in flagrante delicto of corruption".

The investigation subsequently conducted by the police services made it possible to dismantle the drug trafficking network, the DGSN is pleased to say, according to which the defendant was taken into custody and will soon be brought before the judge, as soon as the investigations are completed.
