Morocco Tightens Jet-Ski Regulations to Boost Coastal Security for Summer Season
As the summer season approaches, the authorities in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region have announced a series of measures to strengthen security on beaches and coasts. Among these measures is a tightening of controls on the rental of jet-skis.
One of the main areas of intervention concerns the rental of personal watercraft and pleasure boats. According to information relayed by several media, these boats would regularly be used for illegal purposes by criminal entities. To counter this phenomenon, the authorities plan to strengthen the rental procedures and intensify the controls.
At the same time, the services of the Royal Navy and the Royal Gendarmerie will strengthen their presence at sea to monitor the coasts and prevent illegal entries and exits from Moroccan territory. This measure is particularly aimed at intercepting individuals wanted by the justice system who would try to flee by sea.
