Morocco Tightens COVID-19 Restrictions as Outbreaks Hit Berry Production Facilities

Due to the appearance of new Covid-19 outbreaks in production units in Larache, Ouazzane and Kenitra, reinforcement of restriction and precautionary measures has been carried out since Friday in certain municipalities of these provinces.
In a statement, the Ministry of the Interior indicated that "457 cases and 103 cases were respectively recorded in the Frigodar and Natberry Maroc units, specialized in the production and packaging of berries". For these reasons, it decided to "tighten the precautionary restrictions and preventive measures in municipalities in the provinces of Larache, Ouazzane and Kenitra," the statement continues.
Also, the borders of these municipalities will be closed and controls at the entrance will be strengthened in order to contain the spread of the pandemic. Thus, the populations concerned are prohibited from going out, except in case of emergency or extreme necessity. In these cases, they must respect the barrier gestures, concludes the statement.
