Morocco Tightens Border Controls as Global Covid Cases Rise

The risk of a new wave of Covid-19 is still present in Morocco, especially with the deterioration of the health situation in several countries, particularly in Europe, major providers of tourists.
Is Morocco already at the door of a fourth wave of contamination? The measures taken by the authorities to control access to the national territory show that the fear is visible. The health situation in some countries has worsened with the possibility of a new wave of contamination, especially with winter approaching. This is why the Moroccan authorities have constantly called for vigilance so that the gains are preserved, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
According to the same source, this period may be the calm before the next wave of contamination, even if the country is currently showing a rather positive situation. Sharing the same fear, the Ministry of Health has called on all Moroccans to join the national effort by massively participating in the vaccination campaign and respecting preventive measures.
The national vaccination campaign has slowed down somewhat in recent weeks, since the vaccination pass has become a document giving access to certain places. To reach collective immunity, Morocco needs to vaccinate another 5 million Moroccans.
