Morocco Urges Mass Vaccination to Prevent Winter COVID-19 Surge
The Expanded Scientific Committee has urged Moroccans to massively adhere to the vaccination campaign, in order to avoid a new wave of Covid-19 contamination this winter.
Taking advantage of a session of exchanges, the committee members insisted on vaccination, which remains, according to them, the ideal solution to progress towards collective immunity and a return to normal life.
To this end, it is urgent to be vigilant, in order to prevent a possible deterioration of the epidemiological situation, but also with regard to the rumors circulating about the vaccines.
On this subject, the Minister of Health Ait Taleb indicated that his department has developed a communication plan that it is working to deploy on a large scale in order to deal with unfounded rumors about the vaccines, adding that Morocco is among the countries that have accumulated strong experience in vaccination, ranking first among African countries in this field.
For his part, Moulay Taher Alaoui, president of the Scientific Committee in charge of the national Covid-19 vaccination strategy, warned against persistent rumors and untruths about vaccines and their side effects.
In addition, the expanded committee reassured citizens that the means are gradually being put in place to strengthen pharmacovigilance and access to vaccination for immigrants residing in Morocco.
