Morocco Extends COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign to Include Refugees and Asylum Seekers

Morocco has decided, after consultation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to extend the Covid-19 vaccination campaign to refugees.
This expansion aims to improve refugees’ and asylum seekers’ access to health care, said Health Minister Khaled Ait Taleb.
The minister also recalled that the national program to promote the health of refugees and migrants in an irregular situation includes the free provision of treatment, diagnosis and care for epidemic diseases for migrants on Moroccan soil.
For his part, the UNHCR representative in Morocco, François Reybet-Decat, expressed his gratitude to Morocco, describing the decision taken to save the lives and health of citizens as courageous, bold and proactive.
