Morocco Thwarts Over 30,000 Illegal Immigration Attempts in 2023, Official Reports

Morocco continues to communicate on the means put in place to fight against illegal immigration and above all to show its main European partner that the figures are there to prove it.
According to government spokesman Mustapha El Khalfi, the kingdom has thwarted more than 30,000 attempts at illegal immigration since the beginning of the year, which is a "great effort" deployed by the Kingdom in the fight against this phenomenon and against the networks active in this field.
Citing the figures published by the Ministry of the Interior, El Khalfi recalled that the Moroccan authorities had prevented 80,000 attempts last year, which testifies to the considerable efforts deployed by the Kingdom to fight against the networks of illegal immigration, active mainly on the Morocco-Spain axis.
These efforts have been recognized by international, particularly European, institutions, which have reported a decrease in the number of immigrants arriving in Spain, the minister said, assuring that the kingdom "continues its policy of fighting against illegal immigration following a humanitarian approach".
