Algeria Deports 12 Moroccan Migrants, Detains 42 Others in Immigration Crackdown

Twelve Moroccan illegal immigrants have been repatriated by the Algerian authorities, through the border post of "Zouj bghal", near Oujda. 42 other candidates for illegal immigration have been detained and are incarcerated in prisons in Algeria.
The Moroccans are involved in an illegal immigration operation leaving the city of Saidia. They were intercepted by the Algerian navy on the border with Morocco.
The migrants apparently did not have any identity documents, according to rue20.com, which adds that 42 candidates have been detained in various Algerian prisons, even though some of the immigrants had presented their passports.
More than 54 people had taken part in the immigration operation on board a boat originally heading for Europe. The trajectory was diverted by the force of the winds, pushing it towards the Algerian coasts.
