Morocco Targets Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir for National Team Switch

Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, is in search of new talents for the upcoming matches of the Atlas Lions. He is said to have included Eliesse Ben Seghir, attacking midfielder of AS Monaco, in his extended list.
Will Eliesse Ben Seghir join the den of the Atlas Lions during the next gathering? Barring any unexpected injury, he will be on the next list of coach Walid Regragui, according to the X account of the Moroccan media Soccer212, adding that "the steps have been very smooth" between the main interested party and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). In June, the latter initiated the steps for the young Monaco talent to be able to play for the Mountakhab. If the information were to be confirmed by an official source, the 19-year-old player would participate in the next friendly matches of the Moroccan national team. It will face Angola on Friday, March 22, before crossing swords with Mauritania on Tuesday, March 26 at the Grand Stade d’Agadir during the next international break.
Born on February 16, 2005 in Saint-Tropez within a Moroccan family, Eliesse is the brother of footballer Salim Ben Seghir who plays for Valenciennes FC. After his training in Cogolin, Fréjus St-Raphaël and then AS Aix-en-Provence, he joined the AS Monaco training center in 2020. The young talent revealed last season (4 goals in L1), has defended the colors of France in the youth categories (U17 and U19).
