Morocco’s Taghazout Emerges as Global Surfing Hotspot, Hosts Major Competition

Over the years, surfing has established itself as a sporting and tourist attraction in Taghazout. To maintain the momentum, tourism professionals are calling for strengthening air transport and opening up this part of the coast.
Taghazout, one of the most popular surfing destinations, will host the 2023 edition of the Rip Curl Pro Search from February 18 to 26, reports La Vie éco. The competition will see the participation of the world’s best surfers. This sporting event will shine the spotlight on the destination internationally. The Moroccan champions of the discipline Ramzi Boukhiam, Brahim Iddouch or Othmane Choufani have, through their successes, contributed to its promotion. Maintaining this momentum involves multiplying accommodation products adapted to surfers, strengthening air transport and opening up this part of the coast.
To recall, the first edition of the Rip Curl Pro Search Taghazout competition took place in 2022. It was a great success.
