Morocco Stuns Tanzania in Dramatic Comeback to Win African Futsal Championship

Crowned African champions! The players of the Moroccan indoor football team won the continental title this Wednesday. After a thrilling final played in the indoor hall of the Moulay Abdellah complex in Rabat, they overcame a tenacious Tanzanian team with a score of three goals to two.
However, the match had started badly for the Lionesses. Despite initial attempts to open the scoring in the first half, a certain lack of concentration proved costly. The Tanzanians thus created a surprise by beating the Moroccan goalkeeper as early as the 4th minute. Far from stopping there, her teammate doubled the lead in the 16th minute, instilling doubt among the local supporters. It wasn’t until the 20th minute that Doha El Madani reduced the gap for Morocco, allowing her team to return to the locker room only one goal behind.
In the second half, the Moroccan players displayed a great performance, determined to get back into the match. Their perseverance paid off in the 34th minute when Drissia Korrych found the back of the net for the equalizer. The tension was at its peak in the final minutes. As the clock was ticking, and in the last seconds of play, Damraoui emerged to score the winning goal, giving the title to Morocco in an indescribable atmosphere. This 3-2 victory, snatched in the final moments, crowns Morocco at the top of Africa in women’s futsal a few days after the triumph of the under-17 players.
