Morocco’s Women’s Futsal Team Crushes Cameroon 7-1, Advances to Africa Cup Semifinals

The Moroccan national women’s futsal team secured their qualification for the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025. This Thursday, at the Sports Palace of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat, the Moroccan team defeated Cameroon with a score of seven goals to one during the second day of the group phase.
Entering the field with the objective of securing their passage to the next round after a first victory, the Moroccan players quickly took the lead. Amal El Aoufi opened the scoring in the 4th minute. This opening goal pushed the Cameroonian team to become more offensive to get back into the game. However, it was Morocco who doubled their lead through Malak Alkilani Kelani in the 12th minute.
This second goal increased the pressure on Cameroon. The Moroccans continued their momentum, scoring a third goal by Knaidil in the 15th minute. Cameroon responded shortly after, reducing the gap in the 17th minute. Despite several attempts from both sides, the score of 3-1 in favor of Morocco remained unchanged until halftime. It should be noted that in this tournament, the first-placed teams from each group and the best second-placed team qualify for the semi-finals, and two African nations will obtain a ticket for the World Cup in the Philippines.
The second half saw Cameroon trying to intensify their efforts to come back into the game, while Morocco sought to consolidate their lead. After a phase without any goals scored, despite the offensives led, Meriem Hajri scored Morocco’s fourth goal in the 28th minute. The Moroccan goalkeeper, Kaoutar Bentaleb, also distinguished herself with several decisive saves against Cameroonian attempts.
This defensive solidity and the lead in the score allowed Morocco to control the end of the match. The Moroccans added three more goals: Doha El Madani in the 32nd minute, followed by Siham Taddlaoui, then Malak Zaid Alkilani who scored a brace. The final score of 7-1 thus validates Morocco’s qualification for the semi-finals of the competition.
