For its first participation in the Amputee Football World Cup, Morocco put in a very impressive performance, reaching 5th place in the overall ranking.
The Moroccan players were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Amputee World Cup. Coach Fouad Assou’s protégés were stopped in their tracks by Turkey, the host country of this competition. But for the classification match, they managed to defeat Italy.
The history will therefore remember that for their first participation in the Amputee World Cup, Morocco beat Ireland (6-0), faltered against Brazil (0-2), before making amends against Argentina (4-1), thus qualifying for the quarter-finals.
