Morocco Sets Ambitious Quarter-Final Goal in Tough World Cup Group

Morocco finds itself in Group F with Belgium, Croatia and Canada at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. A difficult group with formidable opponents, but the goal of the Atlas Lions is to reach at least the quarter-finals.
The Moroccan national football team, one of the first to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, wants to repeat its feat of 1986 in Mexico where it had reached the round of 16 as the group leader. But this is likely to be difficult in a group where Belgium seems to be the favorite and even one of the four best teams in the competition.
Morocco aims to reach at least the quarter-finals, which means it will have to get through the group stage and the round of 16. The disappointment would be great for the Atlas Lions who have excellent players like Achraf Hakimi, Youssef En-Nesyri, Sofiane Boufal, Amrabat or Yassine Bounou, if they failed to reach this level of the competition, despite the tough opponents.
