Morocco Stunned by Gambia in 1-0 Friendly Match Defeat

The Moroccan national football team failed this afternoon to overcome the Gambian team in the friendly match that pitted the two countries against each other at the Grand Stadium in Marrakech.
In front of a small and scattered audience, the Gambian team won with the only goal of the match scored in the 27th minute by Musa Barrow. Despite several attempts to equalize, the Moroccans’ ball did not manage to reach the nets. The penalty offered in the 90th minute was not converted by Fayçal Fajr.
This lost friendly match bodes ill for the one that must oppose Morocco to Zambia on June 16, still at the Marrakech stadium. The Moroccans will therefore have to fight to try to score, win and gain confidence before the Africa Cup of Nations which begins in a few days.
Given the more than disappointing score, especially in front of their home crowd, it is unclear whether coach Hervé Renard will have to make some changes for the next match.
And it won’t be easy for the Atlas Lions as they find themselves in the "group of death" and will have to overcome South Africa, Namibia and Côte d’Ivoire.
