Morocco Striker Hamdallah Mulls International Retirement After Squad Omission

Abderrazak Hamdallah’s absence from the list drawn up by Halilhodzic is not to his liking, so much so that he is considering announcing his international retirement prematurely.
At the head of the Moroccan national football team for a few hours, Halilhodzic unveiled the list of players expected to take part in the preparation camp, announced to be held from September 1 to 10, 2019. A total of 46 players have been called up and it will be punctuated by two friendly matches in which the Atlas Lions will face Burkina Faso on September 6 and Niger four days later.
On the list of 46 players validated by the Bosnian Halilhodzic, Hamdallah is not included. Offended or, at the limit, angry at his exclusion, the international is about to make an important decision for his professional player career.
Al-Nassr would indeed be about to take his international retirement, following Halilhodzic’s decision not to call him up for the next preparatory gathering of the Lions.
Yet Hamdallah had not decided to leave the gathering of the Atlas Lions of his own free will, suddenly, a few days before the start of the 2019 CAN. He had handed in his resignation because of a conflict with Fayçal Fajr. The latter would have refused to let him take a penalty against Gambia, in a friendly match. A spoiled child’s reaction, in short.
