Morocco strengthens its strategic partnership with NATO

Led by Lieutenant General Max A.L.T. Nielsen, the mission allowed for multiple exchanges with the Kingdom’s civilian and military officials. The objective is to consolidate Morocco’s role as an indispensable strategic partner within the Mediterranean Dialogue.

The discussions first focused on the academic and institutional aspect. During meetings with Abdeljalil Lahjomri, the Perpetual Secretary of the Academy of the Kingdom, and Brigadier General Youssef El Mehdi, Head of the Directorate of Military History, the emphasis was placed on the mutual trust that binds Rabat to the Alliance.

The operational aspect was also at the heart of the visit. The NDC commander met with Major General Mohammed Gadih, Inspector of the Royal Air Force. The exchanges focused on the adaptation of military doctrines and the challenges related to the training of modern air forces.

This visit results in a concrete strengthening of the cooperation. The two parties have agreed to intensify technical exchanges, the training of personnel, and the strategic dialogue between the NDC and Moroccan institutions.
